Sanction of the Competition Authority to the Owner

The Competition Authority has concluded the investigation it carried out against sahibinden Bilgi Teknolojileri Pazarlama ve Ticaret AŞ, an online vehicle and real estate rental and sale business.

The investigation related to the prevention of data portability in terms of services of the platform for the sale/rental of real estate and vehicles and the determination of whether competition has been violated by other means has been completed.

40.1 MILLION SANCTION

In the decision, it was claimed that corporate members of sahibinden make it difficult to use more than one platform by preventing them from carrying data.

It indicated that sahibinden, by this means and the obligation of non-competition that it imposes in its contracts, hinders the activities of its competitors, abusing its position of dominance and violating article 6 of Law No. 4054.

For this reason, the Competition Authority decided to impose an administrative fine of 40 million 150 thousand 533 TL on the company.
