Following the announcement of the college preference results, students looking for a place to stay expect higher prices on private dormitories.

After private dormitory rates have increased by more than 100 percent, dormitory rates in the big cities preferred by millions of students are staggering.

INCREASED IN ONE YEAR EXCEEDED 100 PERCENT

The lowest private dormitory prices in Turkey for 2023 for one year (9-10 months) education period was 20,000 TL, while the highest was 320,000 TL.

In his statement to Sozcu.com.tr, Yurtlarfiyatlar.com founder Tuğrul Arslan stated that there may be a slight increase in dormitory prices in Istanbul and Ankara depending on occupancy rates in September.

ISTANBUL WAS THE MOST EXPENSIVE CITY

After hikes of more than 100 percent, prices for private dormitories in Istanbul, home to almost 2 million students, range from 40,000 TL to 320,000 TL a year.

Prices for single shared rooms in Istanbul start from 14,000 TL per month and go up to 32,000 TL.

The three districts of Istanbul with the highest number of student residences stand out as Beşiktaş, Kadıköy and Fatih.

In terms of districts, the annual prices for student dormitories in Beşiktaş range from 95,000 TL to 320,000 TL, while the annual rates in Kadıköy range from 60,000 to 250,000 TL. Annual dormitory fees at Fatih range from 40,000 to 200,000 lira.

THE PRICE OF A SINGLE BEDROOM IN ANKARA INCREASES TO 26 THOUSAND TL

In Ankara, where 8 state universities, 13 private universities and 21 universities are located, private dormitory rates are in the pocket.

As of July, dormitory prices in Ankara range from the lowest 45,000 TL to the highest 260,000 TL per year.

Dorm prices for a single person in Ankara go up to 26 thousand TL.

THE CHEAPEST BEDROOM IN IZMIR 55 THOUSAND TL

As of July 2023, dormitory prices in İzmir are between the lowest 55,000 TL and the highest 220,000 TL per year.

While Balçova has the lowest residence fees at 55,000 TL, Bornova stands out as the district with the highest residence fees at 220,000.
