Inflation in the euro area was 5.3 percent annually in July.

The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) has published the final inflation data for the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone for the month of July.

According to the data, annual inflation in the Eurozone, which was 5.5 percent in June, was 5.3 percent in July.

In the preliminary data for the Eurozone, inflation for July was announced at 5.3 percent annually. The final data confirmed the main data.

Inflation in the Euro Zone in July decreased 0.1 percent compared to the previous month.

In the EU, annual inflation, which was 6.4 percent in June, was 6.1 percent in July.

Inflation was 8.9% in the euro area and 9.8% in the EU in July 2022.

2.47 percent of inflation in the euro area was caused by services, 2.2 percent by food, alcohol and tobacco, and 1.26 percent by non-energy industrial products.

COUNTRY INFLATION RATES

Annual inflation was 17.5 percent in Hungary, 10.3 percent in Poland and Slovakia, 10.2 percent in the Czech Republic and 8.9 percent in Romania in July.

In said period, inflation was 6.5 percent in Germany, 6.3 percent in Italy, and 5.1 percent in France. (AA)
