The SCT collected from alcoholic beverages, which was 19.9 billion TL in the period January-July last year, increased to 32.4 billion TL with an increase of 63 percent over the same period this year.
In July, both the SCT alcohol increase and the VAT rate increased from 18 percent to 20 percent.

SCT, which was collected from tobacco products, which was 11.7 billion TL in July last year, increased by 45 percent to 17 billion TL in the same period this year.
The SCT collected from tobacco products, which was 53 billion TL in the period January-July last year, increased to 85.3 billion TL with an increase in the same period this year.
Thus, the SCT, collected only from alcohol and tobacco products, reached 117.7 billion TL in the first seven months.
In addition to the SCT increases in tobacco, the VAT rate was increased to 20 percent in July.
In the January-July period, 5.7 percent of the total tax revenue of TL 2 trillion 53 billion consisted of SCT collected from alcohol and tobacco.
