Employee severance pay looted

Employee severance pay looted

Hak-İş Chairman Mahmut Arslan said that the right of millions of workers to severance pay was almost looted by the bosses using the mediation system. Arslan argued that the state also followed this looting. Speaking at the press conference, when President Arslan was asked whether there will be an element such as severance pay fund in the newly prepared Medium Term Program (OVP), he said, “There is no severance pay issue for the bosses. They resolved the severance pay through mediation. Laid-off workers have become unable to receive their severance pay,” he said.

‘GET THIS MONEY’

Arslan specified that according to data from the Social Security Institution, 38 million insured workers were admitted and discharged by the bosses, and that it was understood that one worker was fired several times from that number and was brought back. Arslan said: “The worker is fired without any compensation. Then the mediator intervenes. He told the worker: ‘You will get this. If he sues, it’ll take years, he’ll get nothing. Come and settle for this money,’ he says. The worker, who sees the big bosses and lawyers in front of him, desperately agrees to the number they tell him. The seniority of the worker is officially looted, ”he said.

Dervish Tip for ‘Bitter Medicine’

When HAK-İŞ Chairman Mahmut Arslan was asked if the government will bring a stronger ‘bitter recipe’ to the people after the elections, he said, “We feel that pain every day with price increases” and stated who met with Vice President Cevdet. Yılmaz and said: “Before Kemal Derviş introduced us to the bitter medicine. He talked to all the social partners one by one. I suggested to Yılmaz that Mehmet Şimşek should do the same as Derviş and share the bitter recipe with us.”
