1.9 billion lira dispute settled in 7 months
Consumer arbitration committees settled the 1.9 billion lira dispute in 7 months this year.
According to the written statement made by the Ministry of Commerce, the consumer arbitration committees allow the resolution of disputes between consumers, sellers and suppliers.
Although the workload of judicial authorities has been significantly reduced by these efforts, more than 16 million disputes have been resolved by consumer arbitration committees without going to court.
402 THOUSAND APPLICATIONS IN 7 MONTHS
In 7 months of this year, 402,110 applications were submitted to consumer arbitration committees, 393,768 disputes were resolved. The total value of the disputes decided was estimated at 1.9 billion lire.
Consumers can submit their applications to consumer arbitration committees electronically through e-Government and Consumer Information System (TÜBİS).
In this context, 262 thousand 317, which corresponds to approximately 65 percent of the requests made in the 7 months of 2023, were made electronically via e-Government.
MOST COMPLAINTS TO FOOTWEAR PRODUCTS
When the requests made to the delegations in the aforementioned 7 months based on products and services are evaluated, complaints about “shoes” products ranked first with 12.31 percent.
It is followed by “credit card membership fee” with 5.93 percent, “mobile phone” with 5.34 percent, “clothing” with 4.65 percent, “internet subscriptions” with 4.64 percent and “furniture” with 3.6 percent. and “GSM subscription” with 2.72 percent.
In the same period at the sectoral level, the largest number of requests was made in the field of “retail trade” with 56.59 percent. This item was followed by requests for “financial services” with 11.51 percent and “subscription services” with 11.09 percent. (AA)
