The Regulation on On-Site Inspection and Inspections of Nuclear Energy and Ionizing Radiation of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force.
Consequently, the institution will determine the technical requirements, standards and procedures that must be met in relation to activities related to nuclear energy and ionizing radiation, the relevant legislation or authorization conditions, the decisions and instructions of the institution, security , nuclear protection and assurance.
Inspection and on-site inspections can be carried out at all stages until the Authority decides to remove them from regulatory control for activities related to nuclear energy and ionizing radiation and for persons, facilities, devices and substances related to these activities.
The audits may include the general audit of natural or legal persons, or they may be specific to certain topics.
The frequency and scope of such inspections and the scope of on-site inspections shall be determined by the Authority, taking into account the principle of a phased approach.
If deemed necessary, a resident inspector will be appointed at the facilities or places where the activities are carried out.
In case of need, you can cooperate with the relevant public institutions and organizations in the audits.
Additionally, inspections can be conducted any day of the year and at any time of day, with or without prior notice, including holidays. (AA)
