If it’s free, get to Istanbul for 2.90 lira

cogeneration According to the calculation made by Özkan Yalım, former Uşak MP, regarding the transport costs of the carriers, even if the product was purchased for free, the price per kilogram was TL 2.90 only until it arrived in Istanbul from Antalya. When these products leaving the field are added with the product fee, broker fee, market fee, VAT and local transport fee of the market, and the seller’s profit, the price doubles until it reaches the counter.

Stating that the distance between Antalya and Istanbul is about 800 kilometers and that he has traveled 1,600 kilometers on the return trip, Yalım made the following calculation with the truckers carrying produce: “A truck or truck with the capacity to transport 20 tons of vegetables, called a centipede, burns about 40 liters of diesel every 100 kilometers. This vehicle burns 320 liters of diesel in 800 kilometers from Antalya to Istanbul. When we calculate based on the price of diesel in Antalya, the only cost of departure between Antalya and Istanbul is about TL 6,240.”

29 THOUSAND TL WITH ALL EXPENSES

Yalım pointed out that when road tolls, bridge tolls, daily expenses and driver wages are added together, the one-way cost of a truck driver is TL 11.8 and continued his explanation as follows:

“If we add the trucker’s profit, the taxes to be paid and the operating expenses to these expenses, it is approximately 29 thousand TL for one time. This round trip cost is 58,000 thousand TL. For a 20-ton vehicle, 1 kilogram of product is transported for 2 lira 90 cents between Antalya and Istanbul. In other words, even if you buy 10 kilograms of watermelon for free in Antalya, you have to pay 29 lira for 10 kilograms of watermelon when it arrives in Istanbul, excluding the cost of transportation from the city to the seller.”

closed contact chargers

Transporters working under the site presidency of Işıkkent Transporters operating in the Bornova district of İzmir closed contacts against VAT-SCT increases and fuel price increases. More than 300 truckers said their profits went to fuel and they were unable to make a profit. The drivers, who demanded the withdrawal of the increases, said that the actions must make their voices heard by closing contacts throughout the country, along with all the chambers of carrier merchants. The carriers had to put an end to the action with the intervention of the security forces.
