Bulent Bülbüloğlu, a member of the Service Exporters Union Tourism Sector Committee and a tour operator, pointed out that there was a big problem, especially on the Datça peninsula, saying: “The entire accommodation and service sector in the region has collapsed. Noting that boutique hotels are concentrated in the region where the blackouts were experienced, Bülbüloğlu said there was no crisis affecting the foreign market. While the utility company explained that the reason for the outages was excessive heat and heavy use of air conditioners and chillers, it noted that ADM Elektrik, which is responsible for the infrastructure in Aydın, Denizli and Muğla, urgently needs to upgrade its infrastructure established years ago and take measures such as necessary equipment, personnel and spare parts.
