The oil companies bp and TotalEnergies have won the tender to build a 14 billion dollar (12.6 billion euro) offshore wind farm in Germany.

According to the German energy market regulatory agency, the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur), tenders have been held for four offshore wind power plants with a total capacity of 7,000 megawatts.

With these tenders, Germany allocated $14 billion for projects to be built in the North and Baltic seas.

British energy company bp won a 4,000 megawatt offshore wind power project in two different tenders.

GREEN ENERGY TO 3 MILLION HOUSES

French oil company TotalEnergies, on the other hand, won the right to build a 3,000-megawatt project with two separate tenders.

TotalEnergies, in its statement, reported that 3,000 megawatts of offshore wind power capacity will provide green energy to three million homes.

Bundesnetzagentur Chairman Klaus Müller, in his assessment of the bids, stated that the results confirm the attractiveness of Germany’s offshore wind sector, saying: “Competition in the offshore wind sector has never been so high. . These results are an important step towards achieving our goal of 30,000 megawatts of offshore wind capacity by 2030. (BRITISH AUTOMOBILE CLUB)
