Response to Tax and Price Hikes from the Consumer Rights Association
Members of the Consumer Rights Association in Ankara made a press release and reacted to the tax and price increases.
About 50 people gathered in front of the association’s office in Çankaya, carrying banners and banners reading ‘Conscious consumers are organized consumers’, ‘The social life of consumers is over’, ‘This order must urgently change’ and chanted slogans.
THE GENERAL MAJORITY CANNOT MEET THEIR MOST BASIC NEEDS
Turhan Çakar, President of the Consumer Rights Association, pointed out that the purchasing power of consumers has decreased a lot in the last year, saying: “The vast majority of consumers have not been able to meet their most basic needs, such as nutrition and shelter.”
Çakar said: “Most consumers have been deprived of proper and balanced nutrition” and continued as follows:
“The economic hardships to which consumers are condemned have ended their social life and their social relationships. Existing economic and social policies, wage and employment policies, tax and price policies must be urgently changed in favor of people, consumers, retirees, workers and those living below the hunger and poverty line. .
