How much does IMEI registration cost? When will the phone registration fee take effect?
The registration fee for mobile phones brought from abroad increased again in the second half of the year, after increasing from 2023. Under the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette, the amount of the fee in the rates of the Tariff Law No. 492 was increased by 50 percent, and the usage permit fee for phones brought with passengers from abroad was 20 thousand TL.
HOW MUCH IS THE IMEI REGISTRATION FEE?
The Presidential Agreement regarding the implementation of the Agreement for the Redetermination of Fixed Charges in Tariffs of Tariff Law No. 492 was published in the Official Gazette.
Within the scope of the decision, the amounts of the fixed fees included in the fees and applied in 2023 were increased by 50 percent, with the exception of the section titled ‘Driver’s license fees’ in the numbered fee (9) related with the Tariff Law No. 492, of July 2, 1964. The permit fee was re-determined at 20,000 TL. (DHA)

The amount of 20 thousand TL determined for the IMEI registration fee will be valid from July 8.

With the latest decision, the total rate increase applied to phones brought from abroad for personal use since 2015 has been 15,110 percent.
