Announce salary increase for retirees

After civil servants, social participation increased to 16 million retirees. There was a view that the normal inflation rates of 17.55 percent and 19.77 percent for retired civil servants, workers, merchants, and farmers should be increased to 25 percent with the additional social participation that would be granted.

25 PERCENT RENT WILL BE MADE

A proposal was said to be tabled in Parliament’s Plan and Budget Committee, where the stock market bill for the additional increase is still being discussed. If the proposed motion is carried, a 25 percent increase will be made for nearly all of the 16 million retirees.

In addition to the normal increase of 17.55 percent, civil servants were paid 8,077 lira for social participation, and this amount was not reflected to retirees. In line with the consumer inflation announced by TÜİK, the government announced the increase of retired civil servants by 17.55 percent and the increase rate of other retired workers, merchants and farmers by 19.77 percent.

ERDOGAN MADE A STATEMENT

However, in the face of the reactions, President Tayyip Erdoğan said that efforts would also be made to provide social benefits to retirees.

The president of the Parliamentary Committee on Plans and Budgets and the representatives of the partisan groups held a preliminary meeting for the proposal to increase pensions. The parties are said to have agreed to the increase proposal and the proposal will be presented later in the evening.
