How much will civil servants and pensions increase according to inflation?
With the announcement of inflation in June, the eyes of civil servants and retirees turned to the news of the government’s increase. Rates of increase will be determined by the welfare share plus 6-month inflation.
Consumer inflation in June was 38.21 per year. The 6-month inflation rate was 19.77 percent. Thus, the inflation difference for 6 months was 19.77 percent.
With this rate, the increase in the salaries of civil servants without social participation was 17.55 percent, and the increase in pensions without social participation was 19.77 percent.
THE MINIMUM SALARY OF THE OFFICER WILL BE 22 THOUSAND LIRA
In addition to the inflation difference, officials are waiting for the salary increase that the government should make. Consequently, with the regulation that will soon reach the Parliament, the lowest salary of civil servants will be increased to 22 thousand TL. For other public servants, there will be a gradual increase according to criteria such as title and grade.
Erdoğan said: “On Wednesday, July 5, our 6-month inflation rates will be clarified. Once inflation rates are clear, we will honor the promises we made to our civil servants and retirees. “We will submit all matters requiring parliamentary approval before recess at the discretion of our parliament,” he said.
Normally, the SSK and BAĞ-KUR pensions increased at the 6-month inflation rate in July, while the 6-month inflation difference + 6 percent increase was applied to the salaries and pensions of civil servants. However, this year, these rates will change with the social participation that will be given in addition to the difference in inflation and the increase in the collective agreement.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH THE OFFICER’S SALARY INCREASE?
The lowest salary for civil servants was 12,632 lira in the first half of the year. Adjusted for inflation, this number was expected to be 13,927.
The salaries of civil servants, without including the social allowance, would be the following:
However, with the new regulation, this figure will increase to 22 thousand TL.
HOW MUCH WILL THE RETIREMENT SALARY BE?
Except for the inflation figures and social participation, the rate of increase of SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees has also been determined. Salary increases for retirees from SSK and Bağ-Kur in July will be made at the 6-month CPI rate of the CPI of January and June 2023.
The lowest root pension of SSK members before 2000 was TL 6,000 93. When these pensions increase by 19.73 percent, the monthly root will increase to 7,295 TL, and after July they will continue to receive 7,500 TL per month.
In January, the lowest salary of retirees, who received a 30 percent increase in social participation, increased to 7,500 TL. Along with social participation, the increase in the pension will be determined by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
WILL THE MINIMUM RETIREMENT WAGE INCREASE?
No message was given that the minimum pension will be increased, which is 7,500 TL. The pensions of approximately 9 million retirees were leveled at 7,500 lira. With the increase that will be made, the number of those who receive a salary of 7 thousand 500 TL will decrease.
For example, a pensioner with a root pension of TL 6,500 will receive TL 7,800 as salary. That is, she will only have received an increase of 300 lire.
