The latest rental housing in Antalya: Apartment for rent by auction
Rent increases that began in the resort city of Antalya during the pandemic period increased 5-fold after the Russian-Ukrainian war. The astronomical prices in some regions, on the other hand, provoked reactions.
Apartments that found tenants for 2-3 thousand lira last year can now be rented for 15-20 thousand lira. Despite the fact that the rents are so high, the migration of locals and foreigners to the city continues.
In the city center, where rents are highest, there is a shortage of flats for rent. On the other hand, some owners rent their houses through ‘auctions’.
‘WE WANT OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS’
Cengiz Kul, the founder of the Tenant Solidarity Platform, stated that the search for tenants by auction method shows the point where the housing problem has reached and said: “We saw both interim payment and daily payment. Although low-income citizens are abandoned to their fate, we trust in divine justice. One day, justice will necessarily manifest itself for orphaned children, widows thrown into the street, orphans and orphans. We do not want charity, or fitra or donations from anyone, we just want our constitutional right to protection, ”he said.
‘WE MUST COME TOGETHER AND WALK TO ANKARA TOWARDS PARLIAMENT’
“We are just tenants. We are not traitors or people who want evil in this country,” Kul said and said:
“The homeowners and real estate terror have officially mocked us. When will low-income citizens be cared for, we no longer have peace in our family. Shall we assemble and march to Ankara to Parliament? Does someone die, does someone commit suicide? It is urgent to find a solution to this housing problem, which has become the bleeding wound of society, not of the individual. We no longer have the patience or salary to rent”.
