Zero tariff quota on agricultural products imported from Uzbekistan
As of July 1, a zero-tariff tariff quota was defined for the import of some vegetables, chickpeas and dried nuts, including onions originating in Uzbekistan, and some fruit imports.
In accordance with the President’s decision published in today’s edition of the Official Gazette, the amounts of the tariff quotas defined for the products that can be imported from this country with zero tariff; 1,000 for onions, 2,000 for chickpeas, a total of 4,000 for beans, 4,000 for other vegetables and mixed vegetables, 1,000 each for bitter almonds in shell and walnuts, 400 for raisins, 1,000 for plums, 700 for other fruits, 1,000 for dried and shelled peppers determined as 1,000 tons for peanuts.
THERE WILL BE NO ADDITIONAL LIABILITIES
On the importation of these products from Uzbekistan in the amounts of the determined quotas, customs duties and additional financial obligations, if any, will be applied as zero.
The form of distribution and the principles of application of the quotas will be determined by the communiqués published by the Ministry of Commerce.
Dues amounts will be valid for 2023 and will be redeterminated each calendar year. (Reuters)
