Announce the time of the third meeting on the minimum wage

The Minimum Wage Determination Commission will meet at 11:00 a.m. within the scope of the work to determine the rate of interim increase to the minimum wage.

After the first meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, which began on June 13, the second meeting was held yesterday.

Although several statements were made at the first two meetings, no figures were released regarding the new minimum wage.

The first statement on the figure came from Türk-İş President Ergün Atalay, who met with President Tayyip Erdoğan last night.

Atalay did not say the number they demanded, but said: “We are close to the number we wanted.”

NO NUMBERS HAVE BEEN RELEASED SO FAR

Veli Solak, head of the Turkish business delegation, made the first statement after the first meeting last week, saying:

“We want our brothers who work with minimum wage to be updated according to the conditions of the day, according to the economic crisis, according to the rent of the house, according to the cost of living. Official documents have been requested, we will make a statement. No figures were disclosed.”

Türk-İş representative Ramazan Ağar, who made a statement after the second meeting yesterday, recalled the statements by Vedat Bilgin, who was Minister of Labor and Social Security before the new cabinet, that the ‘minimum wage will be around of 500 dollars ‘ and said: “We do not negotiate in dollars. We are not talking about 500 dollars, but according to the conditions of the day,” he said.

TÜRK-İŞ Chairman Ergün Atalay, who met President Tayyip Erdoğan yesterday evening, said: “We are close to the number we want.”

Atalay continued:

“I think he will come to a conclusion before we find out on Thursday. I conveyed our demands to Mr. President. We have reached a certain point. I hope it doesn’t arrive on Thursday. The probability of it happening tomorrow (June 20) is 50 percent, let’s talk to the Minister again, tomorrow (June 20) we will get somewhere.”
