Declaration of minimum wage of the Minister of Labor
After the second meeting of the Commission for the Determination of the Minimum Wage, held today within the framework of the provisional increases, came a statement from the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan.
Işıkhan said: “The day the minimum wage will be announced has not been determined, we are working on it.”
Delegations from TÜRK-İŞ on behalf of workers and the Turkish Confederation of Employers’ Unions (TİSK) on behalf of employers attended the meeting chaired by Labor General Manager Sadettin Akyıl in the morning.
Işıkhan met with Türk-İş President Ergün Atalay and TİSK Chairman of the Board Özgür Burak Akyol at the Ministry after the second meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission.
The meeting, which began at 2:00 p.m., lasted approximately 1 hour.
NO NUMBERS PRONOUNCED YET
TÜRK-İŞ Secretary General of Finance Ramazan Ağar, in his statement at the end of the meeting, stated that a figure has not yet been presented, but they expect a provisional increase before Eid al-Adha.
President Tayyip Erdogan is expected to announce the new minimum wage before the holidays.
