Artvin farmer: only the transport of slaughter animals is 35 thousand lire
As Eid al-Adha approached, the last of the slaughtered animals began to arrive from Artvin. Breeder Ekrem Akyüz, who left Artvin to sell culls, said: “We are going to the Bursa Isabey market. We are sacrificing. There are about 100 sacrificial animals. We have small cattle. We have been feeding it for a year, we bought it with money and fed it.” Ekrem Akyuz said:
*Highway fare is 35 thousand TL each, 35 thousand TL from Ardanuç to Bursa. His rent is 30 thousand TL in Bursa Isabey. So far, you have found a cost of 70 thousand TL at checkout. When we go to Isabey we will give him fodder or hay or something, they are expensive too. We will ask you up to 10 thousand TL, otherwise you will not save. If the price that saves us is 7-8 thousand TL, nothing less than it will save us, we will lose going from here to there.
*We prefer it because we can sell it at a better price in Bursa. Our products are good. We go there because the people of Artvin prefer our property. What we will demand from the authorities, they will not come to help at all. We’ll have to bring it back and look here. It would be better if they were useful. Since our Artvin residents are there, we go to the Isabey market. (PHOENIX)
