Memur-Sen’s statement on the increase in the salary of civil servants

Memur-Sen Chairman Ali Yalçın and the accompanying delegation paid a congratulatory visit to Vedat Işıkhan, Minister of Labor and Social Security.

During the visit, the increase in salaries for public officials scheduled for July and the negotiations of the Collective Agreement for the 7th Period to be held in August were discussed.

Memur-Sen Chairman Yalçın, in his speech during the visit, argued that the labor peace among the staff working in public institutions and organizations was shaken and the wage balance deteriorated, saying:

“This situation came to light before the electoral period of our president, and it was stated that the minimum salary of public servants would be increased to the level of 22 thousand liras and would also be reflected in retired public servants.

A study on what concepts and salary titles will be reflected in the regulations, and if it will be a percentage or a mobile amount, has not been shared with us or with the public. Therefore, considering this sensitivity, work must be done together with the authorized confederation so that the regulation does not generate other grievances.

Recalling that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that all civil servants of the first degree will receive 3,600 additional indicators and that this will be one of the first works of the Assembly, Yalçın stated that civil servants would appreciate this regulation to be completed without delay and without cost. social.

Yalçın expressed that they are pleased with the step of abolishing the interview, which they have expressed for a long time, and expressed their request that the Promotion and Title Change exams, which will support career and merit in public employment, be increased. efficiency and quality, and increase performance, be carried out periodically, at most every 3 years.
