AKP statement for increases in the minimum wage and civil servants

With the 2nd round behind in the presidential elections, eyes turned to the economy and the salary increases promised by government representatives before the election.

AKP Group Vice President Muhammet Emin Akbaşoğlu made statements regarding the retirement salary of civil servants and the increase in the minimum wage, which is expected to take place in the month of the live broadcast he attended.

Akbaşoğlu said: “One of the first things we will do is bring the regulations on the minimum wage and the salaries of civil servants to the parliament” and included the following statements in his remarks:

“There are technical studies carried out by our Ministry of Labor and Ministry of Finance on this subject. There is a relationship that arises within the framework of collective agreements. The inflation rate is taken into account. We also add social participation here, and the rate that will occur within this framework will be reflected in the salaries of public servants.

We will present our proposal on the minimum wage and the minimum wage of 22 thousand TL as soon as the commissions are formed. Inflation should also show up in June. We need to assess the inflation rate and the welfare gap in the 6-month period together.

The expectations of our people will definitely be met. Purchasing power is essential. Together we will see an approach that will increase our purchasing power and satisfy our employees in a month.”
