Dr. Şahin said that due to the city hospitals, both the public was dragged into a huge debt quagmire and the advantage given to private hospitals by preventing easy public access to health services. Stating that if they come to power, they aim to initiate legal proceedings regarding the city hospitals immediately and curb public damage, Dr. Şahin said, “All projects and expenditures will be examined within the first 100 days, and legal proceedings will be initiated against those who cause public damage. To prevent dollars from being stolen from the State, an expropriation is going to be carried out, ”he said.
PEOPLE’S MONEY WAS A WASTE
Stating that the health system is almost collapsed and citizens cannot even get an appointment at hospitals, Dr. Şahin said that instead of city hospitals that people have difficulty reaching, they will switch to the model of district hospital in the new period and will bring health service to the people. Şahin said: “State hospitals with 200 to 600 beds will be built in the districts. Urban hospitals were built and city centers, where the population was dense, were abandoned to private hospitals. We could have built 190 state hospitals with 95,000 beds with the rent money we would give to 14 city hospitals with 22,000 beds. “People’s money was wasted,” he said.
Doctors abroad await the election
CHP MP Dr. Fikret Şahin said that 400 doctors resigned from public service every month in the last 3 years and 225 of them emigrated abroad. Stating that they will stop and reverse the immigration of doctors if they come to power, Dr. Şahin said, “A modern understanding is needed in the Ministry of Health, upholding the rights of patients and doctors. When we bring modernity to the ministry, our doctors will return. They are waiting for a change of power, ”he said.
