Huge increase in sales of airfryers and coffee makers
With the start of the wedding season and the increase in domestic consumption, sales of airfryers (hot air fryers) have increased by 300 percent and those of coffee machines up to 100 percent in recent months.
Mesut Öksüz, President of the Glassware Association (ZÜCDER), stated that Turkey’s glassware sector has reached a size of 12 billion USD, saying that glassware is among the top 5 sectors with the largest foreign trade surplus and It is one of the two with the highest brand. sectors
Öksüz stated that while they exported 6.5 billion USD last year, they only made 1.5 billion USD in imports, Öksüz stated that they achieved significant success in 8 sub-sectors including glass, metal, industrial kitchens and small appliances.
Öksüz emphasized that the export value per kilogram reached $3.75, which is more than double the country’s average, noting that they made most of their exports to EU countries with 58 percent.
MOBILITY WEDDING SEASON AND MOTHER’S DAY
Öksüz, President of ZÜCDER, stated that there is dynamism in the glassware sector due to the start of the wedding season, the proximity of Mother’s Day and the increase in consumption at home, and stated that there were significant increases in sales of some products during this period.
Öksüz stated that there has been a serious “airfryer frenzy”, especially in the last year, and made the following assessments:

On the other hand, there is an increase in products such as irons and blenders, which allow us to meet our needs in these areas of the home without going to the restaurant or hairdresser. In addition, there is a density in glass products and cups”.
Öksüz stated that the online demand for wedding shopping has increased compared to the past and said that couples now want to shop from a single point, so brands have started to focus on wedding packages. (AA)
