Baghdad and the Iraqi Kurdish regional government could not agree on oil exports

The Iraqi federal government and the Kurdish regional government of northern Iraq could not reach an agreement on the resumption of the export of oil produced in the northern fields to the port of Ceyhan.

Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdel-Ghani made the statement.

IRAQ AND IKBY HAVE AN AGREEMENT

The Iraqi Kurdish regional government and the Iraqi government announced in early April that they had reached an agreement to restart oil exports to Turkey.

Lawk Ghafuri, the KRG’s head of foreign media affairs, said in his Twitter post:

“After several meetings between the Kurdish Regional Government and the federal government, a preliminary agreement was reached this week on the resumption of oil exports through Ceyhan. This agreement will remain in effect until the Iraqi Parliament passes the oil and gas bill.” (REUTERS, SOZCU.COM.TR)
