Unemployment in the eurozone fell in March
The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) has published unemployment data for the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone for the month of March.
Consequently, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the EU, which was 6 percent in February, remained stable in March.
The unemployment rate in the euro area, which was 6.6 percent in February, fell to 6.5 percent in March.
The unemployment rate was 6.8 percent in the euro area and 6.2 in the EU in March last year.
YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT RATE 14.3 PERCENT
By country, the unemployment rate was 12.8 percent in Spain, 10.9 percent in Greece and 7.8 percent in Italy in March.
While the number of unemployed in the EU was 12 million 960 thousand in March, 11 million 10 thousand of them occurred in the Euro Zone.
In March, the number of unemployed young people under the age of 25 was 2,763,000 in the EU and 2,264,000 in the Euro Zone.
The youth unemployment rate was measured at 14.3 percent in the EU and the euro area. (AA)
