Trendyol and PASHA Holding signed a partnership agreement for the Azerbaijan market
E-commerce firm Trendyol signed a partnership agreement with Baku, Azerbaijan-based PASHA Holding for the Azerbaijan market. Within the scope of the agreement, Trendyol and PASHA Holding will establish a company that will carry out joint e-commerce activities in Azerbaijan.
The agreement was signed by Trendyol Group Chairman Çağlayan Çetin and Pasha Holding CEO Jalal A. Gasimov at a ceremony held with the participation of Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank at TEKNOFEST, the festival of largest aviation, space and technology company in the world.
VARANK: THE COMMERCIAL VOLUME OF THE TWO COUNTRIES WILL INCREASE
Noting that Turkish brands want to carry the momentum they have achieved in Turkey into e-commerce abroad, Minister Varank said:
“Before that, I went to the opening of the Berlin office of Trendyol. Today, as the second address, we will start watching Trendyol in Azerbaijan. Trendyol is currently one of the most used brands in Azerbaijan but now it will continue as the brand of Azerbaijan.
The trade volume between the two countries will further increase in the coming period. There is great competition in the world. We must not miss this competition. Hopefully, we will introduce a brand from Turkey, the joint brand of Azerbaijan and Turkey, to the world from a different perspective, in cooperation with Azerbaijan.”
‘WE BELIEVE IN POSITIVE IMPACT’
Trendyol Group President Çağlayan Çetin said:
“We took the first step of our strategic partnership with PASHA Holding. Starting May 3, our Azerbaijan site will be open for use. When we complete our infrastructure works, we will have fully started our activities in Azerbaijan.
When we look at the orders given to Trendyol from abroad last year, Azerbaijan ranks first. Furthermore, according to mobile data analysis platform App Annie, Trendyol was the most downloaded app in Azerbaijan in 2022.
The synergy created by PASHA Holding’s experiences in the Azerbaijan market and Trendyol’s technology, logistics and production competencies will make significant contributions to the development of Azerbaijan’s e-commerce ecosystem. In this regard, we wholeheartedly believe in the success of the established strategic partnership and its positive impact on our sister country Azerbaijan.”
Emphasizing that opening Trendyol to international markets is one of his priorities in his vision for the future, Çetin continued:
“This initiative will also strengthen cooperative relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan by facilitating cross-border trade and contributing to the economic growth of the region. This cooperation brings together two countries with complementary competencies for a mutually beneficial partnership.”
WE WILL FOLLOW NEW OPPORTUNITIES
PASHA Holding CEO Jalal Gasimov made the following assessments:
“Interest in e-commerce has increased in Azerbaijan due to its convenience, wide selection of products and competitive prices. While this agreement provides ease of access to a wider range of products at advantageous prices; It will also offer financial products and services from Azerbaijani companies, especially those included in the PASHA ecosystem. Thus, you will improve the customer experience while improving overall financial health.
In addition to facilitating technology transfer, this initiative will add value to different areas such as fast market and food by improving the logistics ecosystem; It will create new job opportunities. It will promote the culture of e-commerce, allow SMEs to sell online and reduce the informal economy. Therefore, we hope that this initiative will also increase foreign investment in the country.”
