Turkey Kamu-Sen Vice President and Türk Eğitim-Sen President Talip Geylan, in his press release due to Labor and Solidarity Day on May 1, demanded that civil servants receive an additional raise and social share for increase your purchasing power.

In the statement, which included the words “We fight for the workers, jobless, retirees, poor, women and youth of this country, especially our civil servants,” it was stressed that not everyone receives a fair share of the income of the country cause injustice and unjustified enrichment.

Geylan affirmed that due to the economic evolution and the employment policies implemented in recent years, the problems of working life have deepened, insecure and flexible work has become widespread, unregistered employment and workplace accidents have increased.

Geylan said that civil servants and pensioners have succumbed to the cost of living and expect permanent solutions on fundamental issues.

Despite the increase in employees and pensioners, the statement included the following statements, in which it was indicated that the price increases did not meet the inflation targets:

“The salaries of our civil servants and retirees are constantly melting due to the high cost of living, and their purchasing power is diminishing. For a long time, civil servants and retirees have risen according to inflation target figures, but because the targets are not met, civil servant salaries plummet in the face of inflation throughout the year.

Compensation is provided retrospectively with inflation differences paid at the end of the period, resulting in a continued decline in wages against inflation. The salary of the lowest grade civil servants was reduced to the level of the minimum wage, and the poverty line reached 3 times the average salary of civil servants.

In light of these facts, it has become mandatory to reflect the difference in inflation to salaries on a monthly basis and to compensate the losses of our public employees through an additional increase”.

OFFICIALS EXPECT FURTHER INCREASE

• Increase the purchasing power of our employees through additional raises and social participation,
• Payment of the difference due to inflation from the month in which it occurs,
• Completely abolish insecure and contract labor, and employ all public employees safely and permanently,
• Increase the figures of the additional indicator of all civil servants who have reached the 1st degree to 3600,
• Give bonuses to our officers on religious holidays,
• Increase payments like welfare, extra lessons, shift wages, overtime and create new welfare items like rent, clothes, food aid according to the conditions of the day.
• Transfer of personnel from the auxiliary services class to the general administration services class,
• Support economically, socially and psychologically public employees who work in the earthquake zone, especially in housing,
• Simplifying the remuneration system for public officials, ensuring that all public officials receive a salary commensurate with the qualifications required for the public service they perform,
• Abolish the practice of public interviews as soon as possible and implement the principle of merit,
• Assign public employees who moved from 4/C to 4/B to positions appropriate to their educational level,
• Take the necessary measures to end violence against public employees,
• Revise Law No. 4688 and expand the powers of signature and opposition in favor of all the confederal and union representatives participating in the collective agreement, in order to make the collective bargaining system participatory and productive,
• Review Law No. 657 and adapt it to current conditions.
