Trustees can be appointed for assets belonging to countries hostile to Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin has allowed the appointment of trustees for assets belonging to hostile countries in his country.

The decree, which includes Putin’s retaliatory measures against frozen Russian assets abroad, has been published in the country’s legal information system.

In the decree, which allows the appointment of trustees of the assets of hostile countries, especially the US, in Russia, control of such assets will be entrusted to the Russian Federal State Assets Administration Agency.

In this context, it was indicated in the decree that a trustee was appointed for the management of the assets of the German companies Uniper and Finnish Fortum in Russia.

Uniper has five geothermal power plants in Russia, while Fortum has seven geothermal power plants, as well as various investments in electricity generation and distribution. (AA)
