New UK, US and EU sanctions

In the British Foreign Office statement, it was reported that there are 4 IRGC regional commanders on the new list of people to be sanctioned by the UK in coordination with its international partners, the US and the EU.

NUMBER OF SANCTIONS EXCEEDED 300

In the statement, it was stated that the UK has held more than 70 Iranian officials and institutions accountable for human rights violations since October 2022, and with this new sanctions decision, the total number of sanctions against Iran has surpassed 300.

The statement stated that those on the sanctions list will not be allowed to travel to the UK and that their assets in the UK will also be frozen.

“THE IRANIAN REGIME IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BRUTAL REPRESSION OF THE PEOPLE OF IRAN”

British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly, whose assessments were included in the statement, used the following statements:

“The Iranian regime is responsible for the brutal repression of the Iranian people and for the export of bloodshed throughout the world. Therefore, we impose more than 300 sanctions against Iran, including the Revolutionary Guard Army. The UK and our international partners are making it clear once again today that we will not ignore the regime’s brutal crackdown. We will continue to take a series of actions to hold the regime accountable for its actions.” (AA)
