Consumer confidence increased in April

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the Consumer Confidence Index for April 2023.

Accordingly, the Consumer Confidence Index, calculated from the results of the Consumer Trend Survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, increased by 9.2 percent. in April compared to the previous month. The index, which was at 80.1 in March, became 87.5 in April.

In April, the household’s financial situation in the current period increased 4.6 percent to 69.1, and the expectation of the household’s financial situation in the next 12 months increased 12.8 percent to 89.8.

The expectation of the general economic situation in the next 12 months increased 14.7 percent to 95.2, while the idea of ​​spending on durable goods in the next 12 months increased 4.5 percent to 92.

A SURVEY HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT IN THE EARTHQUAKE REGIONS

A Consumer Trends Survey was conducted for the month of April in 81 provinces, including the regions affected by the earthquake.

While the consumer confidence index calculated from the survey results is in the range of 0 to 200, an index above 100 indicates an optimistic state in consumer confidence and an index below 100 indicates a pessimistic state. in consumer confidence.
