Eurozone industrial production increased in February

Industrial production in the euro area rose 1.5 percent in February compared with the previous month.

The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) announced seasonally adjusted industrial production data for February for the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone.

Consequently, industrial production in the euro area increased by 1.5 percent in February compared to January and 2 percent compared to February 2022.

Industrial production in the EU rose 1.4 percent in February compared to the previous month and 2.1 percent compared to the same period last year.

HIGHEST INCREASE IN BELGIUM

In February, the highest monthly increase in industrial production among EU countries was recorded in Belgium with 6.1 percent, Luxembourg with 4.9 percent and Greece with 4.8 percent.

The largest decreases were observed in Slovenia with 3.6%, Finland with 2.3% and Portugal with 2%.

On an annual basis, industrial production increased the most in Ireland at 25.3 percent, in Malta at 17.1 percent, in Denmark at 15.7 percent, while in Estonia at 7.4 percent. and in Lithuania 6.9 percent, Slovakia and Romania fell 4.7 percent. (AA)
