The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the data on the production of milk and dairy products for February 2023.

The amount of cow’s milk collected by commercial dairy companies, which in the previous month was 874 thousand 67 tons, decreased 9.2 percent in February to 793 thousand 384 tons.
Milk production for consumption, which in the previous month was 145,149 tons, decreased 8.5 percent in February to 132,881 tons.

BUTTER PRODUCTION FALLS HARD
In February, the production of drinking milk increased by 11.9 percent and the production of cow’s cheese by 3.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year; Butter production decreased by 30 percent, ayran production by 5.8 percent and yogurt production by 1.6 percent.
