In the statement made by the United Public Business Confederation, “the AKP government’s withholding of salary increases as an electoral trump card will not benefit any citizen. Therefore, it is of great importance to make a provisional increase to public employees before the month of July.
The statement from the Confederation is as follows:
THERE IS A HIGH STORM FOR 34 MONTHS
“The rate of increase that millions of public employees, retirees and workers will receive is determined according to the inflation rates announced by TURKSTAT. However, the inflation rate announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) of 12.52 percent since December has been experienced in almost a month, according to public inflation data. According to the inflation rates announced by Kamu-Ar; Food prices rose 5.2 percent. While world food prices have continuously decreased for the past 10 months, the period of uninterrupted increase in Turkey has reached 34 months.
THE MOST EXPENSIVE RAMADAN IN HISTORY…
In an environment where food prices increased by 19.5% in the first three months of the year and by 111.9% in the last year, Turkey entered the month of Ramadan with the most expensive food prices of his story. Also, when we look at the hunger and poverty figures for Kamu-Ar, the hunger limit has reached 10,891 lira and the poverty line has reached 29,549 lira. The fact that hunger and poverty are felt more and more each day has led citizens to the point where they cannot cope with their livelihoods.
THE TIME IN BETWEEN IS ESSENTIAL
Citizens whose purchasing power is declining day by day in the current economic crisis are also encroached upon with the manipulated inflation rates announced by TURKSTAT on palace instructions. The wage hikes given in January disappeared before the first month was out, and purchasing power contracted by the day from income tax and deductions.
