Request for improvement of salaries of civil servants
According to the inflation data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the change in consumer prices in March 2023 compared to the previous month was 2.29 percent, while inflation in the first three months of the year was registered at 12.52 percent.
Following inflation figures announced by TUIK, officials demanded an increase.
Ali Yalçın, Chairman of Memur-Sen and Eğitim-Bir-Sen, stated that there were losses in the salaries of civil servants due to inflation, saying, “The resulting table shows that salaries are melting, losses will increase, and that the improvements must be made to compensate for the losses. Like Memur-Sen, we have insisted that the improvement that must be given in addition to the increase in the collective agreement must be given as social participation”.
ATTENTION TO THE NEXT 3 MONTHS
Expressing his demand for an increase in his social media account, Yalçın stressed that the inflation rate was 12.52 percent and the inflation difference was 4.19 percent in the first three months of the year. Yalçın recalled that inflation that will occur in the next three months will be added to the difference.
Yalçın shares; “The current situation; Our promise that ‘the best price increase is price stability’ has also been recorded in practice. It is necessary to protect purchasing power with real increases, not numerical size with nominal price increases.
