Unemployment in the eurozone remained stable in February
The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) has published February unemployment data for the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone.
Consequently, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the EU, which was 6.1 percent in January, decreased to 6 percent in February.
The unemployment rate in the euro area, which was 6.6 percent in January, remained stable in February.
The unemployment rate was 6.8 in the Eurozone and 6.2 in the EU in February last year.
By country, the unemployment rate was 12.8 percent in Spain, 8 percent in Italy, 7 percent in France and 2.9 percent in Germany in February.
While the number of unemployed in the EU was 13 million 120 thousand in February, 11 million 142 thousand of them occurred in the Euro Zone.
In February, the number of unemployed young people under the age of 25 was 2,799,000 in the EU and 2,283,000 in the Eurozone.
The youth unemployment rate was measured at 14.5 percent in the EU and 14.4 percent in the Eurozone. (AA)
