Turkey’s competition levels in the production of agricultural products have been announced.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the agricultural product balance tables for 2022.
Consequently, for all grain products, the degree of satisfaction of domestic demand (adequacy degree) of national production in the 2021-2022 market period decreased to 80.3 percent.
This rate was 97.4 percent in the 2020-2021 market period.
The adequacy level of wheat, which has the largest share in total grain production, fell from 102.3 percent to 87.3 percent.
This rate, which was 259% in durum wheat the previous year, decreased to 151.8% in 2022.
While the adequacy level of barley, which is the most important input of the feed industry, was 97.1% in the 2020-2021 market period, it increased to 66.8% in 2022; while the domain level of corn decreased from 84.9 percent to 76.6 percent; Soybean dominance increased from 5.4 percent to 6 percent.
