According to the President’s decision published in today’s edition of the Official Gazette, the effective date of customs duties on flat-rolled products of alloy and non-alloy iron and steel has been changed to May 1.

The effective date of alloy and non-alloy iron and steel flat-rolled products, which was regulated by the President’s decision published in February, but later postponed to April 1, was postponed again.

30. DAY ENTRY INTO FORCE

Within the scope of the Presidency’s import regime decision dated January 28, customs duties on flat-rolled products of alloy or non-alloy iron and steel between the Customs Tariff Statistical Items (GTİP) are not rates ranging from 20 percent percent to 20 percent.

The customs duty rates regulated by the decision were intended to take effect 30 days after the publication of the decision.

In the footnotes to the aforementioned decision, it was decided that these customs duties would apply temporarily as 13 percent and 15 percent for some production facilities and would be subject to end-use provisions. (Reuters)
