EU Commission: 48% of Europeans worry about not being able to pay their bills

About half of those who live in European Union (EU) countries are worried about not being able to pay their bills.

The EU Commission has published the results of its comprehensive “Consumer Conditions” survey on consumer habits carried out every 2 years in 27 member states, Iceland and Norway.

Nearly half of consumers in European countries are worried about not being able to pay their bills, according to survey data conducted in October and November last year.

48 percent of those surveyed are worried about not being able to pay their various bills, including home loans and transportation to work.

37 PERCENT PAY WITH MONEY

37 percent of citizens have to use their savings to pay their bills.

In addition, payments for the top 10 percent of home loan users increased due to changes in interest rates.

The energy crisis in Europe also negatively affected citizens.

Due to the increase in energy prices, more than half of consumers changed their habits.
71 percent of citizens resorted to saving energy at home. Additionally, 28 percent of consumers have changed their transportation options to more convenient ones. (AA)
