Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank stated that the teams in charge have completed the damage assessment to reveal the situation and needs of the industry in the region affected by the earthquakes centered on Kahramanmaraş, saying, “We estimate that the cost of infrastructure, construction damage, machinery and stock damage will be 170 billion lire”. he used the phrase.

According to the Ministry’s statement, Varank chaired the consultation meeting with industrialists held in Adıyaman Organized Industrial Zone (OSB). Varank reported that 7 out of 34 OIZs in the region suffered partial damage to their infrastructure.

5,600 FACILITIES AFFECTED

Emphasizing that repairs and renovations immediately began here, Varank said: “There are about 5,600 facilities with severe and medium damage, destroyed at OIZ and industrial sites. At our remaining 33,000 facilities, it started and continues to be ‘mainly low capacity and partial production’. We estimate that the cost of infrastructure, damage to buildings, machinery and damage to stocks will be 170 billion lira.
