Iraq wins arbitration case, halts oil exports to Turkey
In Iraq, the central government halted oil exports from the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government region to Turkey after it won its case against Turkey at the International Court of Arbitration.
According to the story, which Reuters quoted an Iraqi oil official as saying, Turkey informed Iraq that it would abide by the arbitration decision.
Turkish officials informed Iraqi staff at Ceyhan that Kurdish oil would not be allowed to be loaded from the port without Iraqi government approval, according to a document seen by Reuters.
Turkey then stopped pumping Iraqi crude oil through the pipeline to Ceyhan, according to a separate document seen by Reuters.
According to an official, it has stopped pumping oil into the pipeline leading from oil fields in the northern Kirkuk region.
