Inflation in the euro area was 8.5 percent in February
The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) has published inflation data for February for the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone.
Consequently, annual inflation in the Eurozone, which was 8.6 percent in January, was measured at 8.5 percent in February.
In the preliminary data for the Eurozone, inflation for February was announced at 8.5 percent annually. The final data confirmed the main data.
Inflation in the euro area rose 0.8 percent in February compared to the previous month.
Inflation in the EU, which was 10 in January, was measured at 9.9 percent in February.
Inflation was 5.9 percent in the euro area and 6.2 percent in the EU in February last year.
3.1 PERCENT OF FOOD
Food, alcohol and tobacco products explained 3.1 percent of inflation in the Euro Zone, services 2.02 percent, non-energy industrial products 1.74 percent and energy 1.64 percent.
Annual inflation was 25.8% in Hungary, 20.1% in Latvia, 18.4% in the Czech Republic, 17.8% in Estonia, 17.2% in Poland and Lithuania and 17.2% in Slovakia in February , 15.4%, 13.7% in Bulgaria, 13.4% in Romania, 11.7% in Croatia and 11% in Austria.
Thus, inflation was measured in double digits in 11 EU member countries.
In this period, inflation was 9.8% in Italy, 9.7% in Sweden, 9.4% in Slovenia, 9.3% in Germany, 8.9% in the Netherlands and 8% in Portugal6, 8.3% in Denmark, 8.1% in Ireland, 8% in Finland, 7.3% in France, 7% in Malta, 6.7% in the South of Cyprus, was determined at the level of 6.5 percent in Greece, 6 percent in Spain, 5.4 percent in Belgium and 4.8 percent in Luxembourg.
