Mint to install rebar tracking system
A Rebar Monitoring System (IDIS) will be established to monitor the production or import of rebar at all stages, including its use in construction and laboratory testing.
Existing rebar producers or importers, as well as exporters, wholesalers, distributors, traders and construction contractors are required to transition to İDİS by January 1, 2024.
According to the General Statement of İDİS Implementation of the Tax Administration (GİB) published in today’s edition of the Official Gazette, the system will be established by the General Directorate of Mint and Stamp Printing.
WILL NOT BE MANUFACTURED, SOLD OUTSIDE İDİS
Application of security labels or security signs to reinforcing bars by the manufacturer or importer, tracking of basic data related to production activities and transfer of data to the central system, tracking and tracing of delivery processes, including the manufacturer, exporter, importer, wholesaler, distributor, trader, use in construction and laboratory tests, It was mandatory for the Mint to transfer this data to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the Ministry of Commerce and GİB.
No production, export, import, purchase, sale or use of iron for construction shall take place outside of İDİS.
Within the scope of application, İDİS components will be installed in the production facilities of companies producing iron for construction in the country and in places determined by the Mint for companies importing iron for construction, and security labels or signs that contain the characteristics determined by the Mint will be used.
MINISTRY WILL DETERMINE SECURITY LABEL
Those who sell or buy rods other than the manufacturer and importer, will enter the information of the delivery, purchase and sale documents into the system with the username and password that will be given to them.
The unit prices of the security labels or signs will be determined by the Mint, taking into account cost factors.
Starting today, rebar manufacturers and importers that do not have security tags or signs on their stock will no longer list these stocks for sale after January 1, 2024 and others after January 31, 2024.
If the companies registered in İDİS give up work, they will deliver the unused security labels or signs to the Mint within 7 days after the date of giving up work. (Reuters)
