BİSAM: the hunger limit increased to 9 thousand 234 TL in February
United Metal-İş Research Center (BİSAM) announced the poverty and hunger line data for February 2023.
Consequently, the hunger limit, which expresses the amount spent per month for a healthy and balanced diet for a family of four, increased to 9,234 TL in February.
The poverty line, which covers all the monthly expenses of a family such as rent, bills, transportation, education, health, and clothing, reached 31,939 TL in February.
BİSAM data announced that in the first month of the year (January 2023), the hunger limit exceeded the minimum wage. In January, the hunger limit was calculated at 8,782 lire.

DAILY SPENDING REQUIREMENT EXCEEDED 300 LIRA
The monthly equivalent of food that an adult man should consume for a healthy and balanced diet was 2,385 lire.
This value stood out at 2,276 lire for an adult woman, 2,471 for a young man between 15 and 18 years of age, and 1,651 lira for a child between 4 and 6 years of age.
The cost of a healthy diet for the total family budget was determined to be 8,782 lira.
MILK AND DAIRY PRODUCTS OF THE HIGHEST COST GROUP
In February 2023, the group with the highest cost in daily expenses was the group of milk and dairy products with a spending requirement of 115.41 lira.
The minimum amount of expenditure required for the meat, poultry and fish group is 53.74 TL; The amount of daily spending required for vegetables and fruits reached 52 lira.
While the amount of expenditure required for bread was 23.4 lira per day, fat and oil were the product groups that demanded an expenditure of 19.5 lira.
It was indicated that 7 lire should be spent on eggs and 8.84 lire on sugar, honey, jam and molasses.
