Reaction of the ICI president to the new fiscal measures after the earthquake

The President of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI), Erdal Bahçıvan, made a statement on the new tax measures due to the earthquake.

Recalling that some new articles were added to the debt restructuring law that was discussed in Parliament last night, Bahçıvan said: “It is possible to assess the regulation introduced to the incentives given to corporate taxpayers to heal the wounds of the earthquake as a sacrifice. However, it is unfortunate that the first source that comes to mind for the heavy burden of the earthquake is promised investment incentives to support retrospective and especially quality improvement investment ideas and projects.

‘NEW CHALLENGE FOR COMPANIES AFTER THE EYT’

Bahçıvan continued:

“In addition, the new regulation will bring new unforeseen challenges for companies struggling to raise funds alongside EYT payments.”
