Türk-İş: Staffing issue of contract workers must be resolved before parliament closes
Türk-İş President Ergün Atalay said that all the contract workers demanded the solution of the personnel problem and that they had been meeting with Vedat Bilgin, the Minister of Labor and Social Security for two days, for this.
Atalay made statements in Hatay, where the women victims of the earthquake came to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8.
Stating that a year ago the work life issues were 3600 additional flags, retirement age (EYT), minimum wage exclusion from tax and temporary workers, Atalay said all of them have been resolved so far.
Recalling that the issue of temporary workers was referred to Parliament, Atalay said: “The temporary workers will be released this week, there is no problem. Its coverage is around 70 thousand people. I hope they pass the law by the end of the week. I mean, that issue is over, it’s in Parliament, ”he said.
‘OUR MAIN JOB IS TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS OF ALL SUBCONTRACTORS’
Noting that they began negotiations on the contracts of workers who work in the public sector, which could not be carried out due to the earthquake, Atalay said:
“Our main job is to solve the problem of all subcontractors, especially state companies. We have been meeting with the Minister for two days to see if a study can be done on this before parliament goes on vacation. My request and wish is that the issue of subcontractors be removed from the country’s agenda, as long as it does not come up again. I will continue to follow this request until it is finalized, to say it until it is resolved and make an effort.”
Expressing that preparations for the subcontractor issue have not yet reached a certain stage, Atalay said: “Parliament will be in recess in a short time. We told the Minister. They have a study on the PEs, but there are also those who work outside the PEs. what will happen to them? I demand that all subcontractors, both in SEEs and outside, resolve the staffing issue.” (AA)
