Detection of exorbitant increase in prices of 44,730 homes after the earthquake
The Revenue Administration of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance conducted inspections for “exorbitant price increases” after the earthquakes centered on Kahramanmaraş on February 6.
Revenue Administration (GİB) Chairman Bekir Bayrakdar stated that they have taken necessary measures against those who abuse the current situation in the earthquake region, saying, “In this context, we carry out road inspections, especially in the intercity connecting roads from the early days of the earthquake disaster”. saying.
Stating that they are fighting against those who want to profit from the situation of the citizens who were damaged by the earthquake in the rest facilities on these roads, Bayrakdar said: “On the other hand, we also carry out inspections on issues such as the transport of goods in seismic zones and freight elevator services,” he said.
PERSONNEL ASSIGNED IN THE EARTHQUAKE REGION
Bayrakdar pointed out that the Revenue Administration, when assigning staff from other provinces to the earthquake zone, inspects factors such as exorbitant prices and compliance with the order of documents, and used the following statements:
“Our state provides rental assistance to our citizens who were damaged by the earthquake. Some of our citizens can leave the region and rent homes in other provinces. We closely follow the evolution of prices in the provinces through which our citizens move, both for homes for rent and for sale. According to the first data that we obtained in this context throughout the country, we identified 37,367 housing advertisements for sale and 7,363 for rent, which increased their prices after the date of the earthquake. We will share the results of our exorbitant pricing efforts with the Ministry of Commerce for evaluation during inspections we will conduct in the field.”
Calling on citizens in this regard, Bayrakdar said: “So that citizens do not experience any grievances, they can complain to us about the deficiencies they see in these matters, either through applications such as CIMER, VIMER, or by calling ALO 189.” he performed the assessment of it.
‘NO LOSSES SINCE EARTHQUAKE’
Bayrakdar denied accusations that tax offices confiscated state aid from disaster victims, saying:
“First, let me point out that the tax offices have not applied foreclosures since the earthquake for the collection of public credits. In addition, with the Presidential Decree, all enforcement procedures were halted, including those carried out by tax offices. Regarding the liens placed before the date of the earthquake, I would like to point out the following. Lien requests sent to banks by tax offices are applied to assets at the time they are submitted, and have no effect on money deposited into accounts later. For this reason, since no lien is made after the earthquake date, even if there is a lien on the account before, this lien does not affect the earthquake aid made by the state.
In this context, regardless of the legal dimension of the issue and the nature of the actions carried out, there are publications and news such as “State aid is confiscated” for the victims of the earthquake. We believe our citizens will not respect such posts, which means ignoring all the work and paperwork our state has done for its citizens on this sad day.” (AA)
