Rising meat prices

Rising meat prices

Okan Gaytancıoğlu visited a butcher in Edirne today. Gaytancıoğlu stated that meat prices increased because the females were sent to slaughter, saying: “Not much, three months ago, a kilo of ground beef cost 180 lira, how is it now 260 lira? There are no females left. The male animal was also not fed. Well, imports are made, don’t prices drop? The currencies go to other countries,” he said.

Gaytancıoğlu, Edirne City, “Have there been any changes in citizens’ purchases? “How many animals could you slaughter and sell in a month 5 years ago?” he asked.

“THE NUMBER OF CUSTOMERS DID NOT CHANGE BUT CONSUMPTION DECREASED”

The Edirne Butcher said:

*There is no consumption without production. If we don’t feed the cow, we can’t get the calf. We cannot advance. Get to the blind loop.

*The incoming animal does not comply with consumption. Now we talk about money instead of kilograms. There is no change in the number of our customers, but their consumption has decreased and their purchasing power has decreased. Let the food smell…

*Locally, our numbers are down 15-20 percent. First, they need to support production. First they finished the fattening, they did not give a good support to the fattening. Our people could not invest in milk because they could not earn from livestock, dairy farming is over.

* They did not support milk. On the contrary, milk prices returned, product prices skyrocketed. In the product, we depend on foreign sources such as protein. We also have a shortage. People are crying right now. (PHOENIX)
