The ‘Building security’ project was expensive for the Ministry

According to the Ministry’s Corporate Financial Statement and Expectations Report for the year 2022, the Ministry has prepared a series of disaster-related projects. However, the projects were not implemented. For the Post-Disaster Building Safety Confirmation Project, the report stated: “The project has been canceled due to cost.” In the Disaster and Emergency Response Vehicle Supply Project, it is planned to purchase SUV model vehicles so that personnel can reach the site as soon as possible. However, the Ministry said that “there were no tenders due to the increase in prices due to the increase in the dollar exchange rate.”

Unused Disaster Allowance

The investment program of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change included a project amount of 2 thousand 462 million 901 thousand TL and an allocation of 39 million 234 thousand TL for “Disasters”. It was stated that only 770 thousand TL was spent between January and June 2022. In the investment program of 2023, it was indicated that there was an external loan of 4 thousand 984 million 650 thousand TL for the same project, and it was foreseen that only they would spend 376 million 733 thousand TL of foreign loans in 2023.
