FUNERALS WILL BE DELIVERED TO THEIR FAMILIES

According to Greek state television ERT news, the search for 56 people listed as missing in the accident is scheduled for noon today and the third car of the derailed train is scheduled to be lifted by a crane today.

The bodies, whose identity has been determined, are expected to be released today to their relatives.

FIRST FUNERAL TODAY

The first funeral of those who lost their lives in the accident will take place today in Katerini.

According to reports in the Greek press, the mother of a boy, whose funeral will be held today, and the wife of Athina Kaçara, 34, who is traveling on the same train, continue to be treated at the hospital.

Konstandinos Koridopulos, a relative of mechanic Nikos Nalbantis, who was killed in the accident, told SKAI TV that Nalbantis’ father is in prison in Turkey.

Koridopoulos stated that Nalbantis’ father’s sentence will end after Easter in April, saying: “He won’t be able to be at his son’s funeral. I would like to appeal to the state, (Greek Foreign Minister) Nikos Dendias. I wonder if there is anything we can do so he can come (to his father’s funeral).” He said.
