Strike by civil servants in Germany disrupted public transport
In Germany, the “big warning strike” organized by public employees in some states severely disrupted public transport.
Following the call of the United Service Industry Syndicate (Ver.di), civil servants are encouraged to learn from public life, such as kindergartens, municipal hospitals, garbage collection centers, buses and light rail vehicles in the states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, Saxony, Lower Saxony and Rhineland-Palatinate. He left work in many fields.
The warning strike, organized at the behest of the union, severely disrupted public transport in many regions.
THE STRIKES SEEK TO INCREASE THE PRESSURE OF BARGAINING
The warning strike is intended to increase collective bargaining pressure in the local and federal public sector.
Employers offered a 5 percent increase in wages for federal and local government employees and an additional 2,500 euro one-time payment, but unions rejected the offer as insufficient.
The unions are demanding a 10.5 percent wage increase or an additional increase of at least 500 euros a month. (AA)
